This guy is tuned to kick your shit in if the Gen 1 AI rolls dice in a competent way. Super early evolved pokemon with good speed and attack, STAB hyper fang with 80 power and flinch chances, STAB quick attack if you try being cheeky with your own priority move or a fast pidgey or something, probably outlevels you by like four. He'll sweep if he doesn't just end up spamming tail whip until dead.

I used to farm the rich Ladies at Resort Gorgeous in FireRed with the Vs. Seeker and while their pokemon would get rolled over, there was a Youngster there with a lv 53 Raticate who would put up a respectable fight.

I remember that being THE method in DP/Platinum as the route below Hearthome City had like five or six of those kinds of trainers that would almost always want to rebattle with the vs seeker and you got the amulet coin just before then in the park above the city so it was the early game place to train for money and xp
