Since Shiny Pokemon have lost all their luster with them being piss easy to get nowadays, should they introduce a new rarer alternate color for Pokemon? Make them hard to find with no shiny charm equivalent or way to farm them and have them be actually rare, like Shinies used to be. Now that the games don't have all the Pokemon this would be more feasible since they wouldn't have to make 1000+ new color variations at once.

No. Remove shiny charm, revert the odds back to 1/8000 and make shinies from previous gens non-transferable to gen 10.

I have a better idea. Make pokemon be able to be a bunch of different colors like how stadium had it, and don't make it a rarity thing. It should be fun to run into a color combo that you like in a mon instead of being a dick measuring masochist simulator. Shiny pokemon having 'value' beyond being cool is lame.

why the fuck do they even make shinies as preset colors? given how simple designs are palette wise it would be piss easy to make masks for the various different colored parts of a mons body and you could have seeded random color variation for each part.
all non-shiny mons could be slightly random in color, like for example pikachu's main body ranging from piss-yellow to more orange-yellow and then shinies could expand that range even further on the color spectrum so it goes from green to red, or go to entirely different gradient ranges, or do even more crazy shit like inverting the colors or using crazy blending modes or custom shaders on the various masked parts. gamefreak is insanely stagnant and hasn't tried to evolve or adapt their system at all even though the technology today makes it insanely easy to do

Thry actually did this in pokemon Stadium. >>57964924

Though I gotta admit, as cool as it is I don't know if it should be a main feature. What might be cooler is it being a gimmick sort of feature where every pokemon has a color like a teratype. It stays a normal color unless you actively turn its color on.

Well of course itโ€™s going to be easy to find shinies if youโ€™re playing that many games at the same time. Could have saved a lot of money if you used modded Wiis instead though

Just let players pick their color scheme from the summary menu. Unless the whole point is to retain the bragging rights angle, then just make it hard.
Or remove them, then they're really hard to get.

even if they did have to make it for 1000+ mons, a palette change isn't that hard to implement. Give it to a couple interns for like 1/2 months (to take validation time into account) and you're good to go

stadium had it right, but it should maybe be something like a pokemon can be hue shifted by (up to) like 15% in either direction including shinies. this way you could have a very wide range of semi realistic variance in pokemon colors
for pokemon like blissey where said hue shift just gives them the already available shiny, they should get a new shiny (this should've happened years ago anyway though)
you could even take it one step further and have individual elements of pokemon be shifted in different directions instead of one massive jump

hue and pattern variances would add so much value to pokemons. I dream of a world where hacking is not possible (maybe through some kind of blockchain verification, please don't laugh) and there is as much visual variance as IV/EV. Imagine if you could even breed certain color combinations. You could probably make money trading, like during Diablo 3 release with certain items.

I am a pretty patient man. I try not to insult people needlessly.

I'm doing that right now. Actively trying to not insult you. Because surely you are joking. Surely.

I have never once cared about the rarity of a shiny, I just like alternate palettes
it's much better this way and all I'd ask is they retcon the shitty "barely changes" ones

>le tough guy act
what's the downside of having normies suddenly value your hobby more? It's not like the Pokemon Company has been catering to hardcore "gamers" anyways, it's been casualized to death already. And once again, this only works if injecting is made fully impossible somehow, which is a net benefit for anyone and more in line with the fantasy.

I expressed myself wrong. I don't really care about the player base exploding, that's more the justification for The Pokรฉmon Company to greenlight it. What I care about is fully removing the possibility to inject, and adding more visual variations to Pokรฉmons.

I'm not a tough guy. I'm a kind guy. I try to be nice. Insulting people needlessly does nothing but make them closed off to potential discussion.

Trying to wring profits out of pokemon is literally the most basic of moral lessons the series teaches. It is the goal of the original villains of the game. Putting 'value' before the love of pokemon just makes them shallow commodities that people exploit. Look at the situation with the cards right now and how scalpers are ruining stuff for people. You'd be inviting more people like that into the series. Not only that, but trying to profit off of your hobbies is a quick way to suck all the joy out of them.

I honestly love the idea of being able to breed pokemon in different colors. But to try and make money off it would just poison the well.

Am I retarded, or does the Pokemon that's rather explicitly based on Narwhals and Belugas just so happen to share a shiny colorscheme with a sneaker where the main colorway was called Beluga?

This idea's probably the best if you give a pool of like 4-6 or so to work off of for each, much as it might add to the assload of textures that need be added to compensate. There's a lot of cases in Smash or Pokken where the alt color just straight up mogs the actual Shiny Pokemon palette, and a lot of fellas like Garchomp or certain future Paradox Pokemon could benefit from a new splash of color.

God I wish they would go back and colour correct the shinys though. Half of them are dogshit

No, the franchise already profits from autism enough as it is without actually stimulating its fans to be even less functional. Making shiny easily available was one of the few ethical decisions they made.
