Which pokemon game to get for the OG Switch? The thing I care about most is the performance. I played Sun/Moon on 2DS and the 5fps gameplay gave me cancer.

I am not really into gimmicks, want a classic pokemon gameplay for the most.

Ideally none of them. They're all bad in their own way. Yes even Legends Arceus, though I will admit it is the best out of all the Switch games.
If you have the Switch 2, get SV, it got a 60 fps patch that actually makes the game playable.

okay so, I know someone here is probably gonna say "none of them" but it depends on if you really like spinoffs or not.

if you want performance, I'd say avoid scarlet and violet, those games are good but they have some heavy frame drops in certain areas. sword and shield are good in terms of framerate but only if you don't use online in the wild area. if you do that, then it can drop considerably. BDSP runs like a higher quality diamond/pearl (not platinum, just DP) without a touch-screen, though it has been known to be quite buggy due to being very much a rushjob.
..personally, I know a certain poopdickschizo is gonna maim me for this, but I believe that PL;Arceus is probably the best game on the console, and definitely feels like the one that was actually MADE for the switch

..however, graphically and performance wise? Mystery Dungeon DX, New Pokemon Snap, and Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee are the greats for the console.

For main and side games, none of them are good. Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl are the best you're going to get for decent performance and classic Pokémon on Switch 1.
Pokkén DX and New Snap are the only Pokémon games on Switch 1 that I'd say are good, but they're spin-offs.

Honestly? I'd say kinda? SwSh has Max Raid Battles and Camping which are very cozy in vibes, but can be empty in other areas.
