Penny got a surprisingly slick tera animation, probably the best single piece of animation in Mega Voltage (better direction and more frames than Roy's fucking mega evolution animation... lmao).
Fight itself was par for the course in Mega Voltage, not horribly written but just really poor animation, poor direction, movements lacking weight and impact... they should genuinely consider putting less fights in the series if they can't make them look good. Sucks that timeskip is forever associated with bad animation.

>JN (Galar, all regions)fanservice slop for the most part. The only original thing about it is Goh, who is divisive. some love him, some hate him. Ash is static and gets everything he wants. Comedic episodes are the best in the entire series.
>HZ (Paldea, all regions)The continuity anime. Huge focus on serialization, great animation at the start, Liko is very beloved and popular, but lately some serious cracks have begun to show in terms of production and writing. Has lots of fans ITT and is definitely at least worth a try.

I think the average /padt/ poster will want you to think it's a fully new-good old-bad situation, but I think something like OS or JN would be extremely refreshing after 100 episodes of HZ, for example. one will give you everything the other doesn't. current day /padt/ is really tribal with overselling the horror of the old days vs how great everything is now, but let's be clear. It's all floating around the same level of 'just fine'. No Pokemon anime is really all that great, you're here because of your inherent fascination with Pokemon.
