You ever notice that Starters can never keep a signature move for longer than 1 gen?
>Sceptile's leaf blade
>cucked by shit like Skiddo and Bellossom

>Blaziken's Blaze Kick
>cucked by Hitmonlee and shillmon Lucario

>Swampert's Muddy Water
>cucked by most Water/Ground mons like Gastrodon and Quagsire

>Snivy's Leaf Tornado
>cucked by Tropius and fucking Carnivine

>Chesnaught's Spiky Shield
>cucked by Cacturne and fucking Maractus within the same gen in ORAS

>Delphox's Mystical Fire
>Cucked by Mismagius in ORAS

>Greninja's Water Shuriken and Mat Block
>cucked by Accelgor and Throh respectively

To be honest Sceptile would have gotten cucked out of Leaf Blade the moment it became a Physical move regardless of other mons learning it or not

These signature moves are mostly stupid because nothing about them depends on the Pokemon in question. Leaf Blade? There are dozens of Pokemon who could reasonably hit you with sharp leaves. Muddy Water? Of course it makes sense that other Pokemon with the same typing have it. If you want starters (or any Pokemon) to keep their signature moves, do a better job thinking of a signature move for them, like >>57969704 alluded to mentioning Flower Trick and Torch Song.

>spirit shackle
kinda hard to de-signaturize as there are spirit trappy things that aren't concievably archers like Spiritomb, Gengar, and Marshadow, as well as concievably archers that aren't very spirity like Falinks, Iron Valiant, Iron Leaves, and Calyrex. Maybe the other weaponry based ghosts like Aegislash and Ceruledge could get it? It'd improve their movepools too.
>drum beating
You'd need to change the animation for this one not to literally have Rillaboom's drum. Going of those with belly drum (which Rillaboom, a gorilla, doesn't get?), Marowak seems like a good canidate as it has a physical object to drum with. Snorlax, Chesnaught, and maybe Ursaluna are others that'd maybe have some thematic sense for the summoning roots part.
>pyro ball
Passimian is the only non fire type I could see getting it and maybe you could also give it libero. Chi-Yu, Blacephalon, and Coalossal are the only fire types that could realistically use balls similarly, though maybe Alolan-Marowak could bat it with the club.
>snipe shot
Obviously Octillery as it has sniper, is a water type, and is a tank (not statwise). Kingra too as Horsea has also been used as a water gun.
>flower trick
Definitely a tough one, but perhaps Cherrim since it's a flower that blooms and unblooms pretty fast? Some more attack points would be nice too. Jumpluff had a flower when it was a Skiploom and seems agile enough to also pull off what Meowscarada does. While not flowering, no one is really paying attention to whatever the lower face of Alolan-Exeggutor is doing, so it may also be able to pull off something tricky.
>torch song
There aren't many fire types that I could actually see singing, but since it has roar in it's english name and had a signature move at the time about roaring (and may be a normal type just because of sound), Pyroar could be the most fitting fire type canidate
>aqua step
Ludicolo obviously. Maybe Bibarel for simple funnies.

Signature moves only became important in later generations. In prior gens they made no sense to be signatures(why was Blaze Kick limited to one Pokรฉmon when many fire types can learn kicking moves?) and were mostly inferior to their alternatives >>57969796

>triple arrows
Falinks again, though the preceeding axe kick may be difficult. Maybe Dodrio, if you make it's beak the arrows and it can kick afterwards.
>infernal parade
Literally all the other fire/ghosts. Houndoom too. Gourgeist is on fire inside and is associated with festivities. Spiritomb is a bunch of wisps, so it'd fit too.
>ceasless edge
You kinda need pokemon with sharp, but uneven, bits that can concievably break off. Cloyster looks fairly jagged to me and is always smashing its shell off. By extension, maybe Slowbro (at least give it something over slowking)? Turtonator could likely also do it.

I know romhacks are romhacks but I really like what Radical Red of all things did with Delphox, giving it Mind Blown (Blacephalon's signature move) and switching it's hidden ability from Magician to Magic Guard (Only taking damage from attacks) so that Mind Blown doesn't damage it, as well as fitting the fire mage theme.

Should explain that Mind Blown fits because Fennekin's Pokedex entry states that it can expel lots of heat from its ears. I imagine Mind Blown on Delphox could look something like that.
