More than just a middle Pokémon, there are Pokémon that require a pre-evolution, like Yanma, which should have an aquatic stage.

Or Miltank with the ability to lay Miltank/Tauros eggs, as is the case with Illumise and Nidoran F. Using incense or another item to obtain the Paldea varieties.

Miltank and Tauros being effectively the same species makes no sense. The Nidorans are explicitly the same species, merely predating gender differences (should have been fixed in Gen 2, but much too late now), Volbeat and Illumise are practically clones. I'd say Plusle and Minun should count as well. But Tauros and Miltank aren't remotely similar beyond both being based on cows. You might as well say that Arbok should be able to lay Seviper eggs.
