That's completely false. Blaziken was very popular and even stronger in competitive. Infernape getting whatever praise it does is par for the course of Sinnoh kids being the current 'grown up children' demographic, vocally emboldened by BDSP/PLA era going on and on about Paul this, Cynthia that, Cyrus the other thing, and so on. When Infernape came out it was mostly to groaning. There were some people that liked it obviously, it's Pokemon, but if any of the Sinnoh starters was beloved it was Piplup's line since it had far greater novelty and appeal (penguin, cute, unique typing).

Sun Wukong is a trickster the same way Heracles is a trickster, as in he only goes for trickery after having tried just fighting the opponent and finding for whatever reason that doesn't work. He only goes underhanded when he doesnt have much choice, otherwise he is the type to square off against the entire army of heaven. Never mind Dark is "Evil" and fighting is the "Hero" type and Sun Wukong is the explicit hero of JttW, fighting demons and being on the road to enlightenment. Finally doesn't exactly make sense for Sun Wukong to be immune to psychic attacks given his major weakness (apart from water) was magic items and the circlet giving him migraines to keep him in line.

Emboar was based on a Chinese general from the Three Kingdoms, Gen 5 starters had a whole military nobility theme among them. IMO apart from 3 in a row I dislike Emboars fighting typing for being the only dual type of its set and not having anything that really screams fighting type any more than Samurott, should have just been mono fire.
