The director of Champions just updated their LinkedIn. Development on Champions began in 2024 and ended last month. A shadow drop in the next couple weeks is likely.

To be fair, Champions is not a main game, it's not supposed to have a whole region map or a storyline.
It's basically the battle engine, some interface, a server to host battles, and 3D models/animations for pokémon, moves, stadium etc. A lot of which is already done or can be adapted and tweaked from preexisting work.
Considering that, a year of development isn't that crazy

There's Mega shilling all fucking over left and right, and we all know there's no way SV is gonna get updated to have Megas, and ZA is obviously a no-go for PvP. And with all the Mega shilling through all the media it would be kinda silly for only VGC to keep doing Tera while everything and everyone is doing Mega.

The original trailer for Champions showed Megas and Tera in the same battle. I wonder if we'll see something like Sept 25-Dec 25 still use Tera, but in Champions, Jan 26- April 26 (after ZA is out) Megas in Champions with no Tera, then May 26 - Aug 26 (so Worlds next year) Megas and Tera.

What's there to be hyped about or discuss at this point? They literally showed us nothing but some flashy animations. Could be they finally made every move visually engaging, but experience says otherwise, even the stadium games had their share of particle effects and model waggling.

If version 1.0 is ready they might drop it during or after the presents on the 22nd, there'll probably be at least another trailer with a bit more info. Either way, not much to say until then unless you want to get into pure speculation.
