Just got Switch 2 (with Scarlet as a gift) and wanted to know if the comp scene is still active and worth for a new player. Got into the franchise with Legends Arceus from a friend so this all new to me

The on-cart ladder is still going. GF isn't going to shut that down until the next game comes out most likely. There's a fuckton of guides and resources on getting mons trained up and whatever the current meta is like, so really it just depends if you wanna dedicate the time to get into it.

It's fun for me but for most people it's a pain in the ass to prepare a team, but Pokemon Champions may come out in a few months and it might make it less time consuming to get into competitive.
