All the Pokémon movies were good up until the 9th, but after that, none of them matter

Kyurem movie is pure fight kino with a badass dragon sensei. If you were MEN you would know it's peak fiction.
Instead you wank to a generic movie where "character takes care of the mythical but has to make it leave at the end for arbitary reasons"

I find it a really strange choice that they portrayed Manaphy like a baby. Sure it hatches from an Egg, and a unique looking one at that. But the more notable thing that sets Manaphy apart, is that unlike other Mythcial Pokémon, it can have offspring. It would have been really nice and interesting to see Manaphy instead be like a parent to one or more Phione.

It's the only Pokemovie that feels like a legit anime if you know what I mean.

The secret is that it's a very heavily disguised retelling of the Japanese Shintoistic myth of Tsuru no Ongaeshi (it took me about 3 years to realize this).

Latias giving Ash the drawing symbolizes Japan sharing it's art of otaku culture with the outside world.

See the parallels? Just like Japan os an island, Alto Mare is an island.

Even though Alto Mare has Italian architecture, but maybe OLM feels that Japan is sort of spiritually "European" in the vaguest sense of the word, that's the impression I got at least.

Manaphy was originally made as a standalone Pokemon for the movie. Phione was likely created after showing it to the game team, as they were both implemented at the same time. Their concept art's 8 months apart and Manaphy is the only confirmed pre-2006 design missing from the earliest DP build.

Gen V anime as a whole was this. I don't know how anybody could believe the "redemption arc" of Gen VI when Gen V was seriously the worst the series ever got up to that point. Hatching from an Egg isn't really too notable. And sure while Manaphy hatches from a unique looking one, the anime has custom Egg designs for many species.

Manaphy is the only Mythical Pokémon that can have offspring (if you don't could Phione as a Mythical Pokémon.) so it's strange to have that Pokémon be portrayed as baby in its movie.

So they made Manaphy for the movie, where they made Manaphy a baby. Then after that when putting Manpphy in the games, have it be the first time a Mythical Pokémon is able to have offspring, and even then unlike when other Pokémon breed have the species of the child always be a Phione, a specific new species just for this one case.

So that still makes it strange, just the other way around. What that shows is that they really should have had more coordination between the anime and the games when deciding things.

That's how they officially group them, even in cases where it doesn't make sense. For example, all the Kitakami Pokemon are considered to be from Paldea. Hisui and Meltan/Melmetal have their own categories for some reason.
I don't think they officially recognize generations by number. Maybe on the western end before Gen V or VI, but not anymore.
