Despite what they're names might imply Insomniacs can and do in fact sleep. But they usually tend to do so after spending months to possibly even a year awake.

Due to they're high energy reserves and nocturnal nature, Insomniacs can be seen moving up and about throughout the day and night. This makes them excellent bodyguards and babysitters for trainers and parents.

It always kinda bothered me that despite being a Gen 1 mon the Drowzee line never got a Cross Gen evolution, a Mega or even a G-Max form. Which when considering it's counterpart Abra had a full 3 stage line from the jump and a mega later down the road. But any way's, tell me what you think? I hope i didn't make it overpowered, because that wasn't my intention.

All you did was give Hypno some more HP and Def, which still makes it virtually unusable. Giving it +20 Sp.Atk and -20 Atk would have been better (because who uses Hypno as a physical attacker?), then maybe adding HP and Def. Also, why give it Compound Eyes, an ability exclusive to Bug type pokemon? No Guard would be preferable, giving it 100% accurate Hypnosis and Focus Blast shenanigans.

So overall, I'd give it a 2/10.

I was going with the idea that since insomniacs almost never need to sleep since they've got lot more energy to spare. They've become able to heighted they're physical and mental sense letting them hit more accurately and effectively than most. But No guard works too.

I think its ok. However, I would modify it into something sillier. Like; "Slumber partner"; if the opponent “Rest”, then Hypno “Rest” with it. If the opponent use hypnosis/Yawn on you, then, he also falls asleep.

COMPETITIVE VIABILITY
Insomniac would thrive in Stall, Bulky Support, or even Doubles Trick Room roles. A few potential movesets could be:

Set 1:
All Nighter / Hypnosis / Dream Eater / Protect

Set 2:
Calm Mind / Psychic / Baton Pass / Substitute

Set 3 (Doubles):
To Dreamland (auto sleep) + Heal Pulse + Helping Hand + Ally Switch

It's interesting, but has some problems. Like another anon said, I think compound eyes isn't super fitting. I do like the idea behind it, giving it a more accurate sleep move. Giving it a reskin of compound eyes or no guard are okay options.
To dreamland isn't clear enough, does it activate on switch in? If so, it's too disruptive. Being able to come in and shut down every other pokemon is too strong, especially since you can just hold a chesto berry and be fine.
It's best use would probably be as a bulky support or as a stored power sweeper. It's instantly banned from smogon due to sleep clause, but would probably see a decent amount of play in VGC.

I have one note maybe instead of just insomniac call it insomaniac or insomnic or insomzee. Insomzee would probably work if this was a monkey looking evolution like it's a howler monkey that kept people up by screaming and feed on fatigue

Yes, but so long as you have a pokemon with the ability Vital Spirit and Insomnia you'll be fine. And i've also added that dark types such as kingambit and Incineroar are immune to it.

The former was what i was going for, So that it can Mirror Alakazam who is a fast Special Attacker.
