I can't remember my score, but I got pretty high in ranked with Poliwag. 3 movements with sleep was pretty great. Getting attacked by some high rarity bastard like a legendary or something and getting lucky by putting it to sleep with a counter was awesome since I could then just walk right up to victory when my turn started.

Flygon got me far once the power creep kicked in.

I still remember putting up a good fight against a guy stacked with legendaries. I had a team of jobbers but was able to outsmart him in a few good plays.
I'll never forget pinning his Latias down, I engaged it to force it to hop over me because its attacks were way out of my league. Fucker jumped right over in between 3 of my mons and was instantly out of the game.

You haven't seen torture until you've face a deoxys team. I really wanted to fight someone in real life over that.

Hahah Speed Deoxys always getting in range of their goal turn 1 was a hoot.
Remember when there was a glitch and if Deino knocked an enemy they got +1 move, which combined some other mon’s passive gave it a move range of 5. Good times. I have some old screenshots of that

yeah, he had a move of 3 and could slip past everything except a select few figures that could block ghosts, I think Kirlia being one of the most popular Shuppet blockers. the big purple will o wisp zone also made it decent at dodging attacks

I somewhat miss it, but the game had way too many issues and honestly, that's probably why it died

yeah. Powercreep in this game got retarded. If I remember correctly it was typically a combination of S-Deoxys and M-Gengar who would just rush the fuck out of your flag right?

I stopped playing ranked since I didn't have a team that could compete, but I would love to watch just how cancerous and unfun 'high-level' (aka high-spender) matches were using the in-game replay feature. I distinctly remember going up against Lunala and it was stupid broken. It literally walled every pokemon I had and it was the first time I felt the pay to win aspect of the game. In battle it would halve the attack of its enemy, so to KO it you would effectively need a pokemon with a base 130 attack. And it also has a purple 2 or 3 star(dont remember) instakill. Also remember the Lost Zone (don't think it was actually called that) meta where KO'ing the enemy would make them unusable for the remainder of the game. I think there were a couple of pokemon that could retrieve other pokes from the lost zone, but for the most part it basically looked like Game over for you if your pokemon were sent there.
