Playing Crystal for the first time and not sure if I should be accepting everyone’s numbers

i think your address book is limited in gen 2. there are guides out there that ID the helpful trainers. in crystal you probably specifically want the ones that give you evo stones

In GSC they’re annoying. In HGSS you can ignore them so yes

Also the ones that inform you of outbreaks if you're looking for those pokemon for your team or dex completion.
