Day 41.

I rushed to Lake Acuity, but I arrived too late. Team Galactic had already captured the final lake guardian, Uxie. I didn’t even get the chance to face Commander Jupiter—she was already gone. Still, I managed to catch a Snorunt in the icy wilderness before setting my sights on Team Galactic’s headquarters in Veilstone City. My goal was clear: rescue the lake guardians and put a stop to their plan.

I infiltrated their massive HQ, fighting my way through the grunts scattered throughout the building. Eventually, I confronted Cyrus once again. The battle was intense, but I came out on top. After the fight, he revealed his chilling ambition—to create a new world, one without spirit, shaped entirely by his design. Worse still, Team Galactic had already forged the Red Chain by torturing Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf.

Despite the horrors they endured, I reached the holding chamber and freed the three lake guardians. As they escaped, I faced Commander Saturn one more time. He tried to stop me, but I defeated him and left their HQ behind, knowing the real battle was yet to come.

I soon learned that Team Galactic planned to ascend Mt. Coronet, taking the Red Chain to the very summit. They had to be stopped. I began preparing for what could be the final confrontation, training my team and giving Roselia a Shiny Stone to help it evolve into the elegant and deadly Roserade. The time for battle was drawing near.

Any advice for the final Cyrus battle? I've beat him in the past before but I've also had trouble with him.

Just do what you did when you beat him, and don't do what you did when you had trouble.

Eh, Staraptor, Roserade and Luxrat are a bit too common.

Props on picking best starter, Houndoom and Gastrodon though. Smart to go with two Water dual-types that don't have many overlapping weaknesses AND more move slots for pesky HMs.

I personally am a fan of Roserade so I'll give your team a 7/10!

Day 42

I climbed Mt. Coronet, pushing through wave after wave of Team Galactic grunts as I made my way to the summit. At the peak, I arrived at the Spear Pillars, where I confronted Commanders Mars and Jupiter. I defeated them in battle, but it was already too late—Cyrus activated the Red Chain and summoned the mighty Dialga and Palkia. Just when it seemed reality might collapse, a new force emerged: the shadowy Giratina, who descended from the skies and dragged Cyrus into the mysterious Distortion World.

Without hesitation, I followed them in.

The Distortion World was unlike anything I’d ever seen. Twisting paths, floating platforms, and gravity-defying terrain stretched in every direction. I navigated this bizarre place until I found Cyrus and challenged him one final time, determined to end his plans once and for all.

The battle was brutal. Gastrodon struggled against his Houndoom, burning under its flames, but still managed to land a decisive Water Pulse to bring it down. Luxray stepped up next, blasting his Gyarados with one clean Thunder Fang. Staraptor came in to take on Weavile, but before it could strike, an Ice Punch froze it solid. I swapped in Houndoom, and despite the threat of X-Scissor, it scorched Weavile with Fire Fang. Luxray returned to handle Honchkrow just as it had with Gyarados, and finally, after withstanding Cross Poison and Confuse Ray, it brought down Crobat with one last Thunder Fang.

With Cyrus defeated, I acted quickly and captured Giratina, ensuring it wouldn’t be used for any more twisted ambitions. I left the Distortion World behind, leaving Cyrus to his fate. I landed in Sendoff Spring, where I caught a Chingling and learned that Team Galactic had disbanded. Their dream of reshaping the world had ended.

With peace restored, I continued on toward Sunyshore City, catching an Electabuzz along the way. My journey through Sinnoh wasn’t over just yet.

Day 43

I began training in preparation for my final Gym battle against Volkner, the Electric-type leader of Sunyshore City. During my training, I fished up and caught a Remoraid, a small but spirited addition to my collection. With my team sharpened and ready, I entered the Gym for one last badge.

I opened the battle with Roserade, who laid down a layer of Toxic Spikes to ensure all of Volkner’s Pokémon—except for Jolteon—would be poisoned upon entering. Jolteon was still a threat, so I used Toxic directly to afflict it, then stalled and healed using Giga Drain until Jolteon went down.

Next came Luxray and Electivire. I switched to Gastrodon, who used Mud Bomb to bring them down. The poison damage from the spikes helped wear them down faster, which was crucial given how dangerous they were. Finally, Volkner’s Raichu entered the field, and Roserade returned to the spotlight. After a few powerful Petal Dances, Raichu was defeated.

With that, Volkner was down, and I claimed my eighth and final Gym Badge.

Now, with all badges earned, I turn my focus to Victory Road. One last obstacle remains between me and the Pokémon League—and I intend to be ready.

Thanks. I actually have a Snorunt and if I lose a pokemon at the last moment, I'll immediately evolve her into a Frosslass.
