Game Freak is more than one person, some people at game freak hate Johto. Others like the people who hate Johto are slowly being replaced by those who like it. Simple

I don't see anything to suggest that anyone hates Johto except for some obnoxious fans. Did Johto get better remake treatment than Hoenn and Sinnoh? Yes. Did Johto get as much Mega "love" as Sinnoh? Yes, even slightly more. Did it get proportionately more love than Unova in PLA and SV in terms of forms and evolutions? Yes.
