Kanto enjoyers have been mocked for far too long. Merely for simply enjoying the first and most original region to ever exist in Pokémon.

All other regions are highly derivative of Kanto. Clearly generation one laid all the ground work to frame out how all other Pokémon games would play, and its deviated very little from this model nearly 30 years ago.

We have the success of generation one's Kanto to thank for everything Pokémon related we have today, without nothing else Pokémon ever exists.

This threads for the millennials out there that created a fandom and community that would last. You are the very best this fandom and community has to offer, and have risen to the rank of master countless times.

Maybe pokemania. Maybe cause of the OG gen. Maybe cause the first anime writer was on crack. Regardless Kanto even compared to other regions did have something special. For me personally I like how its not actually wild. As in it feels like a real place in the world. No deserts next to rainforests or tundras that pop up. Its just an urban metropolie with some woods and hiking mountain trails around it. Felt like the pokemon world was just outside your backyard.

Gen 1 and 2 were definitely going for a suburban Japan feel. Hoenn kinda fucks things up by having a bunch of different biomes on one map but Hoenn and Sinnoh both at least try to have a consistent temperature range (hoenn is a bunch of hot biomes, while sinnoh is mostly cold ones) but they still have that Skyrim problem of having largely different biomes within walking distance of eachother.
Unova is the official jump the shart moment though, with wildly different biomes literally a loading screen away from eachother and a cave of magic electric crystals just chilling between two regular towns and nobody in the gameworld seems to care.

Sevii Islands are perfect. There's nothing "underdeveloped" about them
