Because no one gives a fuck about moves that are a little more flashy and involve faggy comically retarded posing. Its the Pokemon and their forms that hang around that can be shilled that people remember.

Because it's balanced instead of power-creep like Megas, Tera, and especially bigmaxing. Like, most of the best Z-Moves are support, that's boring to most people even if it's actually solid. It's inherently less memorable than a form change, Tera will probably have a similar lack of memorability once it stops being the newest one. It also doesn't help that bigmaxing basically gives you 3 Z-moves on top of an HP boost for some godforsaken reason, I'm not surprised Smogon banned that shit (Tera is fine, you fucking cowards).

I like to think of the BREAK cards as being the TCG's version of Z moves. You attach them to the normal Pokemon kind of like TM cards, except they're permanent.

Or possibly the GX moves on GX cards that can only be used once per battle are supposed to be the equivalent?

Those are my two guesses.

Z moves or Tera, but all gimmicks put together still pale to Megas.
