The optimistic part of my brain wants to get hyped for the water octopus starter that I keep seeing in these leaks since you have to go out of your way to make cephalopods look lame but then the realistic side of my brain remembers that's precisely what Game Freak managed to do with the water/spy lizard that was Inteleon.

Honestly a lot of them are pretty solid, surprisingly enough. The new Hitmons are cool, the Ghost urn will probably be really popular, and the ship companion is probably one of the best nu-Pokemon designs in a while.

The Water/Steel and Water/Fire fishes are probably my favourite though since they look like actual tiles. Really unique design.

I feel there would be significant backlash if Gen 10 only has 72 new Pokemon

I think some of these concepts are good but I have a hard time believing they would release a game with only 72 new mons specially for the 10th generation and for the 30th anniversary. Gen 9 had 120 new mons after DLC. I’d expect around the same amount at least from Gen 10 specially if Z-A really don’t have any new mon like the leaks say.
