Are most folks AWARE they've given every new species of Pokemon their own brand new exclusive ability/move since Gen 7? Seems like most people are unaware of this........
The caveats are as follows:
>I only know for sure that Gens 7&8 do this. I do believe Gen 9 does it/almost does it, but I don't care to check.
>it's counted by new Pokemon FAMILIES. So Vikavolt has nothing new itself, but Charjabug has Battery so it does count. Lycanroc Midnight has nothing, but Day gets Accelerock. Also the Ultra Beasts are considered one "family" group for this, they all have Beast Boost.
>It is true of literally EVERY Gen 7 new family of Pokemon. And it's been so long I can't recall, but I know for sure that for Gen 8 it's either also 100% of all of them, or they messed up slightly and it's only like 95%, but the attempt was still obvious. I don't recall.
>They also seem to originally have planned it for the Gen 7 regional forms (Aurora Veil, Shadow Bone, Dragon Hammer...) but they gave up on regional forms all having their own exclusive thing in the final game
