Setting aside any biases against Gen 9 or as a 'cross-gen' evo etc., that is

I liked Girafarig but did not like Farigiraf. The head execution is uncreative. Feels like they wanted to go Berserk but the execution just strikes me as baby bonnet.

I like that the tail and mane work together, instead of splitting apart or figuring each other like many fan evos. Not in love with the design but I can’t think of anything specifically wrong with it.

Its two brains are in sync. The same logic behind Reuniclus

Yes, it went from a shitmon with nothing going for it to an evolution that is an excellent trick room setter and fairly bulky.
There are teams running Farigiraf that don't benefit from trick room just to reverse it. Common to see it with Miraidon.
If you call the opponent's trick room then you get to immediately set back to normal.

No, I hate it. The evolution ruined the entire palindrome theme of its design because the lazy devs just wanted to design a generic giraffe. How do you give the tail head pokemon an evolution without a tail? That's like giving Hydreigon a mega that's a flying snake and saying "The mega converges all its energy into its real head"

Look at every single gen 9 design. They all look they way they are because they are easier to model. Look at those simple shapes. Look at those tube limbs and bodies. Look at those underdesigned bipeds like Armarouge and Baxcalibur. Open world slop hogged all the fucking dev time and resources as usual and you niggers ate that shit up. Kill yourselves.

This makes sense from dex entries only the main head is ‘alive’

Yes! When i was a kid i raised a girafarig to level 100 in ruby, thinking it would evolve. Farigiraf is the vindication i needed.

Yeah, it's pretty good. I also like how actually has the proportions of a giraffe because it's not limited by having to fit into a small sprite like Girafarig.

Only think I'd criticise is the name, the Japanese one makes more sense with how it's structured.

It turns the tail into one of those novelty shark hoodies and I don't like how feminine the eyes are
Would've liked a proper giraffe but even just the balance of the silhouette is off for me

Yes. A giraffe with a normal sized neck was one of the stupidest design choices in Pokémon and was overdue for a correction

It's Japanese wordplay that didn't translate to English
In Japanese, Girafarig is "Kirinriki," which comes from the words for "giraffe" and "telekinesis," and is also a palindrome when written in kana (キリンリキ), which is why it has a head on either side.
Farigiraf's Japanese name is "Rikikirin," which has the same meaning but is no longer a palindrome when written in kana (リキキリン), reflecting the fact that it no longer has a head on either side. This unfortunately was lost in English, as "Farigiraf" is still a palindrome. Unfortunately, I cannot think of a better name for either Pokémon that keeps the original meaning.
I like Girafarig, but it really is one of those Pokémon built around a joke that only works in Japanese.

I like that it’s actually big now like a giraffe should be, but removing the whole “head on either end” gimmick is lame

>head on each side=Girafarig
>two heads on the same side= Girafgiraf
or they could go with Girafiraf, Girafarig only has one F so the new name having one G works
