I agree, I liked it way more than some of the other mainline games so I don't really care if people consider it bad while considering said games good since good/bad becomes worthless information to me at that point

Replayed it recently and you're right, the main villain story is totally dogshit, but the idea of the league being a huge event, with crowds cheering is so good! Wish we get more of it in the future

Also, fuck Swordard and Shieldbert, stupid hairdos shoehorned into the story losers

Would it work with sword/shield as well? This is probably a reaction to the unspeakable absolute putrid shit that was scarlet, I could literally pick any title including spinoffs and it would seriously seem good to me right now. I don't think xy is "legit" good. Just that the bare minimum of a route with some structure-layout/forced fights if they see you>towns with buildings that can be entered>gyms that are actual gyms and it's enough to make it seem godtier after scarlet.

My main complaints are no Greninja compatibility and my least favorite characters Allister, Avery and Hop can't be banned from the Galarian star tournament. I hate their shitty trainer designs because they are not cute girls. If Greninja was usable in Galar, I would have had one transferred from Y or Ultra moon.
