I find it ironic how, despite being Pokemon's main mascot and one of the most recognizable vidya characters ever, nobody really seems to appreciate Pikachu beyond a baseline level. You see them so often even outside of vidya it gets repetitive. By being as widespread as they are, nobody bats an eye at them. GF even lampshaded this in Raichu's UM Pokedex entires.

I respect GF for stubbornly keeping it kind of rare in the main series for so long while all the adaptations and merch were shoving it down our throats.

and i agree raichu is better, i'd even go as far as to say raichu is pretty underrated. used one in an ingame team recently and that thing pulled some serious weight

Whaleburger detected. Pikachu did well to burn off all that fat and stay lean so it doesnt give istelf a heart attack with the first Thunder Shock unlike Raichu which is still an ugly fat piece of shit that no one likes.
