Impossible because it's an inherently retarded idea and they also aren't "convergent" to begin with. Convergence is when two different animals evolve similar features in response to similar pressures, e.g. dolphins and sharks have similar body shapes because that's just the most optimal way to be shaped when you're a large, fast marine predator. But Toedscruel doesn't look like Tentacruel because of a similar lifestyle, it looks like Tentacruel because it's a fucking joke. Your fakemon image isn't any better.

That's not a convergent evolution. That's mimickry.

That's not convergence, it's mimicry. I don't blame you. The official examples are also poor representations.

True convergence, using a Pokemon example, would be Ryhorn and Lairon, which have similar bodies, but one is a rhinoceros and the other is an archaosaurus. Another would be Chansey and Bellibolt, assuming the former is a marsupial and the latter an anuran.

Exactly, GF did not know how to represent the convergence, according to them PR this is a convergent of a snake

An example of parallelism is where individuals from a close common ancestor develop in a similar way when exposed to similar conditions, even if they are separated by distance. A real-life example is leopards and jaguars, which have a close common ancestor along with lions and tigers, but developed similar fur due to their hunting methods and the wooded areas they inhabit.

In Pokémon, you have Tauros and Bouffalant, who have similar physiology and ecological niches, but one is from Kanto* and the other from Unova.

Although Tauros is likely from another region, as it is found in an ecological reserve with other exotic species.

Finally, divergence occurs when individuals from a close common ancestor change significantly from one another due to the different environmental stresses to which they are exposed. Using the previous example, lions and tigers have a common ancestor, but one adapts to the savannah and group life, while the other adapts to the jungles and snowy forests, leading a more solitary life.

In Pokémon, you have Meowth and its different regional forms; Eevee would be a more extreme case of adaptability.

Excuse the rough ms paint drawing but what do you guys think of the concept of a pelican spider convergent for pelipper? I made the feet into those fluffy bits on the end of spiders like galvantula even though pelican spiders aren't fluffy like that but I think it works. The bottom part of the "beak" would just be part of it's thorax and it would it with the two jaws on top.

Is the term “convergent” ever used in-game or in any officially released media. iirc some random leaker called them convergents and fans just went with it

Covergents are really just regional variants without needing to explain why the species changed lorewise

It's never mentioned officially, and it didn't even come from the leakers, it was pushed by people like Centro because autists need a strict term for everything and wanted a reason to ditch Khu's original term "regional fakes".

wouldn't "morphologically similar" make more sense? The whole idea is that despite looking very similar they DON'T share the similar ecological niches,
