It's crazy how you are literally not allowed to even have a thread praising a game unless it's from Gen V or Gen II, lest it be deleted.

Retarded deletion. Anyway I thought it was a little odd how Emerald tends to favor Team Aqua over Team Magma. Aqua tries to befriend the player more than Magma, who's purely antagonistic.

Yep. Archie wants you to join Team Aqua, and while they're still antagonistic, they tend to team up with the player half the time to take down Team Magma's operations. Maxie doesn't make any effort to try and befriend the player in comparison.

Yeah but don’t you need to grind up a team and IV breed/EV train? In these games that’s tedious as fuck isn’t it?

I interpret this as Archie and Team Aqua being the underdogs insofar as they are on the backfoot to Team Magma, which shows Maxie is a better organizer.

Not in the Battle Factory for certain, in the other facilities not really.

You’re joking. I thought these facilities required competitive-tier teams.

You might as well just RNG manipulate instead because Emerald has a set seed so it's easy to shoot for perfect Pokemon. But if you really wanted to breed for IVs Emerald introduces a lot of mechanics that became standard in future entries for easier breeding. Doing a pomeg glitch for a bad egg can easily net you Pokerus, which can be combined with a macho brace for superfast EV training.

Remember this for the next time a "Johto is the best" or "Unova is the best" thread pops up.

Apparently, that's against the rules now.

They do, but they also generally require knowledge of how the facilities work.

In the Battle Factory you use rental Pokemon. Defeat a trainer and you can trade Pokemon with them.
In the Battle Arena you battle for 3 rounds, then both Pokemon are judged on the battle. The higher score wins.
In the Battle Dome you fight a tournament between 16 trainers. You pick three Pokemon from your team to bring, and two from them for each battle.
In the Battle Pike you play a roguelite-like game; you get to pick your next encounter like a roadmap from different rooms.
In the Battle Palace you pick three Pokemon from your team and they participate in battles entirely on their own, based on their Nature and moves. This one tends to be frustratingly RNG-heavy.
In the Battle Pyramid you go through a dungeon-crawler. You can find items in the Pyramid and use them in battle, and they can tip the scales if you find a lot of good ones.
In the Battle Tower you go through a standard battle gauntlet. The further you battle the more the game will add in Pokemon and teams that counter yours, and start tipping the RNG scales in favor of the house. Expect OHKO moves to show up, expect them to actually hit, and expect them to be spammed.

It's a whole separate thing.

>Want to rematch Gym Leaders
>Only 31% chance of being called every 20th Trainer battle and every 60th wild battle, effectively making a call every 60th Trainer and every 180th wild battle (actually less since I rounded the odds of a call up to 1/3) without savescumming
>You can't savescum in the Battle Frontier and you're only being notified of the chance every 21 battles (63 Pokémon) since there are 7 battles in a set. Not to mention that having a Frontier-ready team means you don't even need these Gym Leader rematches
>You can't savescum at the League (26 Pokémon * 5 = 130 Pokémon) because the game auto-saves after beating the Champion, and you can't receive calls during your challenge, meaning you also have to wait out the end sequence and soft-resetting
>Meaning you have to grind 60 low level wild battles, saving after every 59th battle and soft-resetting. In this scenario, you get no money and absolutely pitiful experience. Best case scenario is EVs and a chance at Pokérus or a shiny, but it's just not worth it in a game that has such an easily abusable RNG
>And you have to rematch each Gym Leader three times to battle their final team, meaning this will take literally thousands of meaningless battles

Curious how a pro FRLG thread saying the exact same thing was left up for a week and archived, but the moment a pro-Emerald thread pops up it gets deleted instantly.

You are not allowed to praise Hoenn here.

Like the Battle Frontier, great concept, held back by retarded levels of grinding and RNG. Was probably the style at the time as many JRPGs had something like it for postgame.
>>58008285
Factory is a big favorite since you can just hop in and battle immediately without having to build a team. There's a reason it's the only facility aside from the very basic Tower to return.
