What is the most forgettable Pokemon? This is NOT for Pokemon you hate. If you hate it, you remember it. This is for โ€œoh yea, that is a Pokemon isnโ€™t it?โ€

My vote is for Comfey. The fact that this is an individual species and not a regional variant for Klefki always surprised me.

I just did one of those Pokemon listing quizzes for Gen 1 and the only line I absolutely could not remember was Krabby/Kingler

Comfey was so essential in the TCG for a while I can never forget her.

One of the things i've come to appreciate about the tcg and all the spinoffs is how the wackiest pokemon can get some time to shine when given the right context, like Comfey is memorable to me cause of lost box but also bnecause they put it in unite, which makes it weird because the only thing I know about unite is Comfey and Zeraora are playable in it and that's the only time I remember Zeraora exists too.

Anyway I have a huge gap in my memory about gen 7 in general and my vote goes to Komala

As someone who has managed to name every single Pokemon in under 40 minutes multiple times, the ones I have the hardest time remembering are:

>Inkay/Malamar
>Dedenne
>Comfey
>Stufful/Bewear
>Bounsweet/Steenee/Tsareena
>Pyukumuku
>Cramorant
>Falinks
>Fidough/Dachsbun
>Shroodle/Grafaiai

I can usually crank out Gens 1 - 5 pretty quickly, but Gens 6 - 9 take me most of the remaining 40 minutes while despite comprising only 1/3rd of the Pokemon.

>Bad design
>From gen 8
I remember it now but there were at least two times when I had completely forgotten it existed
A few newer mythicals could be under this category really. Like who the fuck remembers volcanion? There's no reason to remember them because they functionally don't exist beyond the moment they get injected into your game

People throw the term fillermon around but gen 6-8 eventmons truly do encapsulate that. As someone with balltism and loves nicknaming mons I never pay them any mind

I'm glad they're coming back to actually giving them content or weird unlocks like pecharunt and meloetta in SV, even just having the save data bonuses in other games were better than a stick in the eye for collection purposes but it still felt really lame.

>Who the fuck remembers Volcanion
Hey there, Smogon player here. I run Rain teams all the time and Volcanion, along with Ogerpon, really boil(s) my piss.

Not only do I remember every Pokemon, but because I play Smogon instead of VGC, I know most of their competitive strengths and weaknesses too, especially since I frequently play lower tiers.

Comfey is perfectly viable in double battles (the only format that matters). I'm pretty sure a ton of people remembers it regularly (at least when dexcut allows)

Lots of Pokemon go under the radar during early metas. I actually hit top 40 on the OU ladder within the first month of Gen 9 existing despite not even being a Smogonfag because no one was paying attention to Espathra despite it being obviously busted because they were more concerned with Roaring Moon, Annihilape, Chi-Yu, and Chen-Pow. Espathra even dropped to UU the month UU was created because it didn't receive enough usage. To be fair, there were a couple dozen broken Pokemon in Gen 9 with some of them still not being banned (Kingambit, Gholdengo, Iron Valiant)

Randbats are awful in Gen 9 because defoggers got dexited. You have a really high chance of just auto-losing to setup sweepers because you can't outspeed them due to the prevalence of sticky webs and lack of ways to clear them.

Legitimately had to look up the name, Zeraora. Event only legendary from the S/M era but has a really unremarkable design and generic typing so it has nothing to make it stand out. And since itโ€™s an eventmon you will never see it in game
