This was ranked purely on design (have yet to play Gen V). I actually really like a lot of the Unova 'dex designs, worst I can say about most of them is "it's OK". Only ones I truly loathe are the Cubchoo and Timburr lines.

I don't dislike the Golurk or Sandile lines, they're just not my favourites. "Average" is still good, just not as good as the higher tiers. Excadrill just doesn't do it for me, personally. He's not awful (only the "Crap" tier is actually offensive IMO) but something about him doesn't quite do it for me.

It’s the face, at least for me. Everything about the design screams “cool” until you get to the dorky eyes and weird smile. If it had colored irises or a different eye shape, I think it would have looked much cooler. Seems like a victim of that weird “we can’t make it too cool” philosophy that Masuda explained with Luxray. If Z-A really does give it a mega, I hope it helps make it look a bit less goofy.
