>>58018005True, but this is the kind of thing that should've been another Pocketpair slop that wasn't supposed to last beyondd 3 or 4 months, stay in alpha forever, and they trying to get coin by copying something else.
No, the real kicker was Nintendo lawyers giving them free publishing. Who needs to buy online ads or release YT videos when everyone and their mother scream "NINTENDO PUNCHING DOWN INDIE DEVS!!!"
The clickbait brought the influencer normies, those normies spread to the most memetic retards online, and then it was over from there. Palworld was another "Lighting in a bottle" moment, only because Nintendo felt scared from a slop game.
And what happened after that? The lead was smart: make deals, reinforce your cash cow, maybe make a joke games (Pals Forever) or add a joke gimmick (you can now recruit AND SLEEP with the Tower bosses). The crossover with Terraria also gave them some spotlight with those dudes, who said "hey, this game isn't so bad."
Palworld was supposed to died ignored, but somebody at Nintendo had to be a giant retard to point at it. And when people realized there was AN ALTERNATIVE to the main choice of Monster Taming games, word of mouth did the rest.
Nintendo did this on itself, no one else.
