>pokemon have only recently shown up in the world to the point where there are still normal animals, most pokemon have not yet been discovered and at least I read it as some of the older characters in gen 1 lived before pokemon were common
Like, I get that they didn't want to deal with the implication of pokemon being more successful and thus killing off the actual animals, but it's still more interesting than what we have now
>>58017790 (OP)>Pokemon have only recently shown up>Even though fossil pokemon contradict thisIm glad real animals were retconned.
>>58017795there are only 3 fossil pokemon in gen 1 and 2 pokemon must have come in waves or something with some of the earlier ones being the fossils and legendries
>>58017890we don't sign out posts here
>>58017790 (OP)>when gen 2 came out all of the new pokemon were only recently discovered>even eggs were only recently discoveredI remember there was an old copypasta where Pokemon had only been discovered 50 or so years ago before Gen 1 starts, with the "war" referenced by Surge having been won due to the use of Pokemon since they were new at the time. It was a fun idea.
>>58017910even when gen 1 came out a lot of pokemon were rare or undiscovered, that's why oak sends you out with the pokedex in the first place
pokemon are alwasy rare or undiscovered at the start of the each game that's why they need a 10 year old to single handedly write an encyclopedia about them
>>58017950in gen 1 there are nonpokemon animals. in later games all animals are pokemon. in gens 1 and 2 pokemon are rarer and most of the common types have only been discovered recently with some of the legendries possibly being older
