For me, it would be a Larian-developed Pokémon turn-based-tactics CRPG (in the style of Baldur's Gate 3). Pokémon speed determines bonus to initiative and how much distance they can move each turn. They would have to find a way to balance the game so that flying pokemon with ranged attacks can't just easily dominate ground-based monsters. This could make the game really feel like you're playing as Pokémon trainer and make it feel like how the world feels in the anime (telling the Pokémon where to go, what moves to use, etc.). Imagine attacks like solar beam that take a turn to charge: 1) if you're the attacking trainer, you can order your Pokémon to a position where it's protected from an attack during the charging turn; 2) if you're the defending trainer, you can order your Pokémon to hide behind a tree or a rock formation during the charging turn. The position-based tactics of Pokémon battles would make it feel so fun.
What do you guys think? What would your ideal game be like?
Pic related, some rediter rendered their remaining of Pokémon Red as a CRPG, but I'm imagining something with higher graphical fidelity like Baldur's Gate 3 visuals.
