i wouldn't be surprised if the actual main series (not legends) games also end up dropping turn-based combat
after synchro mechanic from sv and the new battle system from za, it seems highly unlikely to keep the games turn-based
would also make sense if it really is like the leaks said, that it's set in an archipelago with multiple islands
that makes it easy for gamefreak to implement the new combat system in a slightly more "open" world than the lumiose city from za, but also be easy to design compared to complex open world environments
