No, GF had a phase where they wanted to put in a spoopy thing in every game, in the same way as the girl in Old Gateau, the girl on that bridge in Unova, the ghost in Phoebe's ORAS room and the Drifloon girl in Alola were.

Pokemon has always been spooky. SV is the first game to not have any spooky content as far as I'm aware (don't have dlcs). Even Galar has that ghost girl sidequest.

And I couldn't quickly think of something spooky happening in any of the first three gens. Pokemon Tower maybe, but that was related to the game's plot and had an answer.

The answer was a ghost of a mother murdered defending her child. At the top of a massive mausoleum tower. In the spookiest town in pokemon history.
But yeah, in SwSh there is a little girl who asks you to deliver a letter to her friend who moved to another town. When you get there the friend turns out to be an old man. He hadn't seen his friend since he was a child, and he's glad she is doing well because she was very sick when he moved away. When you go back the little girl is gone and you find a Reaper Cloth in her place.
