The point is to get all the compfags off a free simulator and get them into a controlled space where they have to pay Nintendo money to pay $3 each time they want to edit the EVs in one stat on one Pokemon, $2 to change one Pokemon's nature, $5 for a Pokemon that's not on the default free roster you start with, and $10 if you want space for another team.

The only reason for me would be if my normie friends would play it. I only have two or three friends that are autistic enough to fight me on Showdown, and only one of them is a close friend I really enjoy talking about competitive with.

If this gets a couple more of my friends into it, I’ll be all for it. I would LOVE to get my closest friends into competitive, but I’ve never had success. They get overwhelmed. This format may be more accessible for them.

However, best case scenario they’ll still drop it after three months. Normies can’t stick to a game, they must consoom. Unfortunately most of my best friends are normies. But I’ll take it, so long as it doesn’t kill Showdown. That trade wouldn’t be worth it. Pic unrelated.

Quit being dumb. Realistically only one of two things will happen to IVs. Either they remove them entirely, or let you edit them. We'd be better off with them removed anyways.
