What is Pokémon Sleep?
Pokémon Sleep is a sleep tracking app that utilizes your smartphone and/or the Pokémon Go Plus + device to record data as you sleep. In doing so, you'll be able to meet a variety of Pokémon and fill out your Sleep Style Dex.

Be sure to post your Research ID so that you can add and share candy with fellow Anons. We are currently locked at 50 friends.

FAQ:
>How do Shinies work?
If you encounter a shiny Pokémon, you only need to feed it a single Poké Biscuit to befriend it.
>What should I spend my diamonds on?
Expanding your ingredient pockets, item pockets and Pokémon box. Long term you’ll want to max out ingredient pockets, only get half of max for items and max 100 for Pokémon.
>When should I use my items?
When you have a good grasp of the game mechanics. You may want to save up Recovery Incenses for event missions.
>What should I spend my sleep points on?
Poké Biscuits first or if you’re a premium user: Main and Subskill seeds and Great Biscuits.
>Can I play this game if there's a lot of noise where I sleep?
The game tracks sleep based on motion only; sound has no impact.
>A Pokémon I fed got full! Will I have to start from scratch the next time I find one?
Nope! Pokémon retain the level of progress they were at the last time you fed them.
>How do dream clusters work?
The higher your research rank, the more you get. You may want to hold onto them as long as possible.

Announcement of the next island. Seems pretty obvious what types it will feature. Theming isn't quite so direct, but neither are a lot of the other ones. I'm also assuming it will serve as a secondary area for a decent number of Fire Pokemon, just because they aren't really available outside of Taupe.

I keep forgetting Trapinch is straight Ground rather than Bug. And there should be 2 additional lines introduced, though they won't necessarily line up with the favored berries like Dratini and Grubbin. Though Grubbin is closer at least, since even though the game doesn't support it, it's still secondary Electric.

I recall that in the Game Freak Leak, we learned some interesting details for the planning of the Trapinch line in their drafts and proposals.

Up until now, every island has featured some encounters that are intended to help you prepare for the next island, like the Houndour at Taupe for Snowdrop, or the Grubbin at OGPP like you say.

In game news update said Amber Canyon in November, this will probably be the buffer between Halloween and Eevee Week.

I thought it was a little funny for this new one to be a canyon because I was recently thinking about some of the N64 side games. The Valley in Snap 64 is assigned orange (amber can be kind of a golden orange), but is clearly a river moving through a canyon and also has Dratini and Dragonite near the end of the course. Maybe this was intentional?

Looking it up, I'm unsure on the specific differentiation between a valley and a canyon, but it seems to be the sheerness and proximity of mountain cliffs relative to a flowing river, and a canyon's river can also be totally dried up. River flows and their erosion is what forms the valley or canyon itself.

I doubt it's a specific reference to Pokémon Snap anyway. The islands in Pokémon Sleep follow a convention of a named color, and a geographical feature.
We have green isle, blue beach, greyish-brown concave space, white snowland, blue lake, yellow structure, and next orange canyon.
OGPP being a power plant bucks the trend of a naturally occurring geographical feature. The two colors we've yet to observe are red and purple, but also black when considering Snowdrop Tundra and Taupe Hollow as the white and grey islands.
As for geographical features, we could have something like Mauve Marsh, Orchid Orchard, Crimson Coast.

It probably wasn't directly a Snap reference, but there are some instances where some names have been reused in the series. Cobalt Coast being a name in Hey You Pikachu, Channel, and later on Legends Arceus is the biggest example.

Mauve Marsh probably would have made sense because many were speculating Poison/Bug/Dragon would be a jungle or swamp.

It's a touch call, it's the smallest possible ingredient finding boost, unless you decide to neutralise the nature which abandons the speed bonus.

BFS Blastoise is absolutely a good choice for any Suicune team though.

I suppose thinking of geography, Dragon is evoked by mountains, cliffs, and spires. Bug and Poison make a lot of sense in damp, humid areas like jungles, but they also make sense for arid regions. Deserts and such commonly house venomous snakes and scorpions, though bugs aren't very specific since they exist anywhere. Not to mention we've already got our share of verdant waterside sleep areas.

Anyone using a 2k+ hour Pokemon that actually gets a helping speed bonus? I'm debating whether or not I should keep my new Fuecoco as a 2nd stage Fire type or just evolve it all the way to a Ghost type. With the bonus, they end up being about the same speed, but it basically trades off berry power for more Apples; neither being particularly fast.

I just realized that after saying this would be a good week to use Legendary incenses (1.5x cooking gains, 2.5x candies, & 2.5x dream shards), luckily I went to an Island where I could actually use one. Not to mention there being a repeat for the legendary dogs coming up, so likely another opportunity to pick up another incense of each. I think I only used my spare Raikou one so far. I'm going to use Suicune, but I also have Entei and Cressalia stocked up.

Probably future event bonus or the flower mechanic will be something revisited in later events, even if not with the same strength of bonuses.

Kinda wish I realized that other than the mint, the other flowers do stack through the nights. I was trying to hold off on some of them until New Moon encounters would amplify the results somehow. Ah well.

I really can't imagine needing many more neutral mints.
And while the possibility exists for further mints with different properties, I'm hesitant to believe they would continue to allow us to exercise further control over Pokemon you've recruited. Subskill seeds make sense as they're situational upgrades, but different natures are more distinctly like rerolls. This further discourages recruiting more Pokemon, which I believe to be the main focus of the game.
Should they exist, I imagine the mints would be grouped into the specific positive natures, but the negatives would be randomized. No idea what they would individually be called though, especially compared to "neutralizing" which speaks for itself.

Nah, that doesn't seem right. It feels more likely they would just randomly distribute the mint with a specific nature, so you just have to keep trying for desirable mints and not gamble on the outcome of using one.
Since you still have the random aspect, it's fair.

Given that they decided to lump all "neutral" natures into one, it leads that they would decide to group like-natures rather than have a mint for every possible nature while somehow excluding all the neutral ones. If they were going to introduce a truly randomized reroll, they would have to provide mints at a decent enough quantity that you COULD actually get something that you wanted rather than having you waste a bunch of resources for nothing. Not to mention that there are less than a handful of actually desirable natures, meaning that a lot of those mints would basically exist solely to be thrown away; both a bad user experience and a waste of everyone's time.
So if they're going to bother putting in more specific mints, it's most plausible that they would group them up by positives. There is still randomization within each of those groups, but it still gives you what you're looking for. You still have the chance of getting speed down, but you'd have the positive nature, which is still beneficial in most cases.

We've known about it for at least a month already. They just added a few more concrete details now.

>• You will also need an Expert Ticket to take on expert mode. You can exchange 200 sleep points for an Expert Ticket at the Regular Exchange or 100 sleep points for an Expert Ticket at the Premium Exchange.
>• You can have a maximum of two Expert Tickets in your bag’s items pocket. You can claim one Expert Ticket from the expert mode tutorial.

>• Snorlax’s favorite Berries for the week will be divided into one main favorite and two sub-favorites. Pokémon that gather Snorlax’s main favorite Berry will receive bonuses, such as shorter helping frequency.
>• On the other hand, Pokémon that don’t gather any of Snorlax’s weekly favorite Berries will receive a longer helping frequency penalty.
>• One additional bonus related to raising Snorlax will be selected at random every week.
Note: The selected bonuses will normally not be the same type of bonuses as those from ongoing events at the same time.
>• Instead of an area bonus, expert mode areas will accumulate an expert bonus.
Note: If an expert bonus accumulates over its limit, the excess bonus will not be transferred over to the regular area bonus, and vice versa.

I imagine the penalties will make it notably harder to make certain dishes that are outside of your favored types for the week. And even though the mode is planned for other islands, I imagine all or at least 2 favored berries will be totally randomized rather than them retaining the same types.
