I'd agree that it's strange the Nidos haven't had anything by this point. Nidoking in particular feels like a common answer for favorite Pokémon or in the top handful of favorites that have played since gen 1 but aren't strictly genwunners.

I think maybe Nidorino and Nidorina should get new alt evolutions with stones or some other method. Branching evolution remains incredibly based. It's shocking TPC doesn't utilize it more.

Ditto, Fossils, and Mew already got special attention in Gen 1 with their gimmicks. Mew arguably has a Kanto regional in the form of Mewtwo, who got 2 megas. Ditto got a HUGE buff in gen 2 outside of battle with being THE breeding pokemon. Fossils could arguably get some service since Aerodactyl did.

Of course the big GFreak could do whatever the hell they wanted.

The fossils all need a lot of love. The idea of reviving long extinct species is cool but the execution is generally underwhelming. Being part rock is rough. I think utilizing something like Primal Reversion to make the fossils stronger would be cool so they can rebalance their stats and in some cases get rid of the Rock type. They really need something.
