To note evo skipping items like rare candy do not work with it. Bulbasaur would have needed to be in play a turn like normal. Since rare candy text clause overwrites the stadium

When you say big setup do you mean throwing down lots of cards quickly or setting up over several turns?

Zekrom ex is pretty fun, a lot of sacrificial play and energy acceleration
Raging Bolt ex is made for doing big numbers, though it can struggle against single prize decks
Hydrapple ex can accelerate and draw cards really quickly and you hit for big numbers

Ethan's Typhlosion can set up quickly, but the general play is to slow down your opponent so you can set your board up and swing for 280 every turn
Rocket's Porygon Z is bad but it's very funny to hit for 360+ with a single prizer by the end of the game
There are plenty more and aside from Raging Bolt and Typhlosion I've given you rogue decks. The current meta is mostly chip damage and slow games and there isn't much call for unga right now, sadly.
I am also far from an expert so take everything I've said with a pinch of salt.

Gardevoir. The answer is Gardevoir. Probably the deck with the highest skill expression which will have you engaged thorough the game. It's also hard to master so it will keep you entertained for a lot of time not to mention it teach you the fundamentals of the game very well.

The cute pokemon are just a plus.

Finally got around to playing in person for the first time
Entered a tournament and went 2-1-1 for fourth place out of about ten people which is way better than I was expecting

My first match was against some jank pile with cornerstone, wellspring, and blissey ex that went to time

And last was my one loss to the undefeated guy playing palafin ex, I forgot about how gusting something resets the big "you can't use this move next turn" attacks so I made a really dumb play at the very end but he admit I gave him a really hard time for his win
From what i heard and saw of the other matches there was a mew vmax and an iron thorns floating around

The day before when i was getting my feet wet the worst was I got demolished at the casual play tables by a pultzard but that always happens
