Bugs are the best

Anyone else like the prototype Pineco and Forretress? I think they made the right call going with the more original designs but these guys are still great.

It's less like they're a prototype of that idea and more like somebody looked at them and went in a completely different direction with it (Dunsparce and Celebi are a similar story and possibly even have the same designer who was told to fill in Pokemon at the last minute because Masuda is an insane person who thinks he can drag a video game out of development hell in a few months). Those two are basically just Burmy and Mothim with a little spice from Wormadm, given how many recycled Gen 2 ideas ended up in Gen 4.

I remember on pixiv this.artist who had a sort of slice of life random trainer and their weedle, it was pretty elaborate with posts having several dozen detailed colored pages. I just remember one about a pidgeotto grabbing the weedle but dropping it after being stung, the weedle survives in the woods for a few days before they're reunited. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
