>>58039281 (OP) They might not have needed megas, but those two helped me get my stamps in the USUM battle tree, so they're cool in my book.

>>58039281 (OP) I only like around a quarter of all Megas, they needed more cooking and after 12 years it's already looking grim for the next batch.

Midwit opinion. Why would some weakling be able to perform the ultimate form of evolution? Only the strongest should get megas, weaklings should get regular cross gen evos if they can.
>>58039981 I mean, the lore of megas was that a strong bond between a trainer and pokemon was the thing to bring out their full potential Until omega ruby/alpha sapphire came out and started doing the edgelord pokedex entries about every mega being driven mad with rage and pain
>>58039989 My take is that the strong bonds between trainer and pokemon were originally needed for the pokemon to power through mega evolution without going mental. Like an edgy anime transformation that gives a big power boost at the cost of the characters sanity prior to being fixed by the power of friendship/ love. Instead, we got that plot point dropped for instant gratification buttons in the final games.

>>58040669 Thatโs was their point. Theyโre good because they got buffs without needing to get a gimmick form
