I'm just going to immediately assume it's 350 fully evolved/standalone/legendary pokemon, so no pre-evos. Just in the case of starters, that's 27 out of 81 pokemon getting in. 350 still doesn't account for everything, so it will probably be a case where pokemon like Raticate, Farfetch'd, Noctowl, Bibarel and the Simi's eat the mightiest of shits.

The leak also mentions the game having lots of different challenges and events with special rules. So it's likely the pre-evos could still be in and still have a purpose from little cup type events.

Pokemon has a history of point systems named similarly (Battle Points, League Points) and the idea of a live service PvP game having a currency that relies on victories isn't unpredictable. It's conveniently full of things that can't really be disproven, so that doesn't mean shit. Some basic critical thinking can easily explain why it's fake though, a real leak with this much text would be at least a little more accurate.

For one, VP is used to buy and edit Pokemon, it's probably the most fundamental system in the game yet all that's mentioned here is obscure things like buying healing items (???) and held items. Second, there is lots of talk about single player content here when the game is still advertising itself as an online only competitive game, the official site basically says the only 3 modes are ranked, casual and private. I would also argue the mention of level 50/100 is proven wrong, levels aren't shown anywhere and look to be replaced with an infinity symbol, Pokemon just have Lv50 stats by default.

It's possible this guy was a playtester for the single player stuff, which could have healing items for some challenges. He also mentions that rental teams are only for casual play (would likely include single player), which are most definitely fully built without the need to spend VP editing their stats/moves/etc.

The infinite sign isn't the level, it's how long you own the pokemon. The trailer shows fully buying Gardevoir instead of using the 7 day trial.

Rental Pokemon are described insanely poorly and with so few details that it doesn't line up with the rest of what we've seen. Yes, but why mention that when there's no mention of the big huge main feature of VP? Why mention a singleplayer mode that is implied to simply not fucking exist in such detail? Why mention a fake sounding really real money thing and then mention "some" items are included in it without specifying what the fuck that means? We've probably seen enough menus to know that said currency doesn't have a space in the UI and they love to show that in every relevant place. Literally the only thing the OP image gets correct about VP is that it's gained from playing the game (which let's also be frank you can probably gain some trivial amount from losing battles as long as you faint some Pokemon to prevent soft-locking the player). It also doesn't mention the Battle Pass thing which probably contains VP, based on how the phrasing of the disclaimer about it includes the inability to "directly" purchase it and how likely it is they'll just throw some in there as a filler reward between the limited time cosmetics and other shit.

The wording of this worries me though. Like there's going to be special held items you can only get with money? Optimistically I could see this being rare items like mega stones and you could still get them with what little currency you earn while playing freely, just that it could take time to grind enough for multiple. Basically making you choose which mega stones you want to get now and which later.

Right now VGC events are a clusterfuck, both in having to make your team and the actual running of the event, having to make a union room with the guy across from you, start a battle, and hope you don't dc. Moving the tournament stuff to a dedicated game means they can actually bug fix it and add features like saving the state of battle between turns so that in the rare event of a dc you can pick up right where you left off. They could also add saving replays and spectator mode. All the basic features a pvp game should have but don't because GF is too lazy to care about the actual torunament scene outside of Japan where they just do everything with wifi tournaments through the Battle Stadium.

That's just it, though, SwSh DID make competitive get bigger. Most tournaments caped out in the 200-300 range pre Gen 8 and now even regional sells out and hits 800+ almost immediately. It's actually a huge problem because TPC reserves these convention centers years in advance and none of them are large enough. It's the reason they changed the World rules this year to be top 75 from each region instead of anyone who hit the CP threshold. Too many people were qualifying for Worlds.
