Currently playing SoulSilver. My team: Typhlosion, Crobat, Gengar, Ampharos, Marowak, Kingdra (once I had access to Wiimmfi and the GTS Trade evo glitch, I could use every trade evo I want).
I am at the league but I am currently grinding a little bit until my team is at level 45. I am also exploring most places for hidden useful items like the choice items (fuck rock climb for being sooo late game though).

Honestly, it gets weaker over time. Theres a lot of weird and intriguing episodes early on but by Johto the amount of random boring filler episodes about shitmons is too much. Movie 1 was melodrama slop, movie 2 is fun and the best thing to come from the anime so far

I'm working on completing the National Pokedex in gen 4. I have it complete in gen 3 in Emerald, but wanted the dex to visit my LeafGreen too because getting a gold trainer card is easier that way before sending them all up. So I thought I needed 386 spare Pokemon to trade for the living dex, but then realized I only needed 5 and could just trade the ones I got back for the next set, and keep trading them in turn until I get those original 5 shitmons back and the National Pokedex is complete.

It's a very slow process and every time a comms error occurs because I jostled my link cable or my GBA SP inexplicably shuts down cause the power button is loose I have a small heart attack in panic.

But once I'm done with this all I'll need left to catch is Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Cresselia, Darkrai, and Manaphy and it'll be done.

Have a Manaphy egg sitting in my Pokemon Ranger awaiting transfer for 11 years now. Soon, Manaphy, soon.

Do you have a modded gamecube or Wii? Pokemon Box can transfer hundreds of Pokemon between gen 3 games.

I do have both a homebrewed Gamecube and a homebrewed Wii, I used the latter to get homebrew set up on the former. I was using it to do RNG manipulation in Colosseum for a while (and to get the Agate Celebi on my completed Colosseum save), but then got stuck and lost all my tools. I didn't even consider using it for Pokemon Box Ruby & Sapphire, that's a good idea.

Funny I was doing the same thing until both my capture card and PC died just a few days apart lol. I started a playthrough back in like 2023, then continued it this year after someone made way better tools in English.
But yeah, Box should work good. Sucks Ranch doesn’t work for it in general 4 since everything is tied to your TID, I’d like the nat dex competed on my Platinum and HG carts without trading shit over and over

Same. I was using XDSeed, XDPokemon, Cotool, OpenBlink, and the like and dropped it because I wanted Misdreavus and Absol, but Pyrite Town's noise and my desired seeds were hours away. It felt like soft resetting for shinies all over again. I did manage to get Entei, Suicune, and Sneasel before checking out though.

I'd like to resume it with Copilot, but I want to watch playthroughs that use it to get a better idea of how it works. The program's manual is really extensive.

As far as I understand Ranch isn't even compatible with Platinum or HGSS, only Diamond and Pearl. It's compatible with JP versions of Platinum, but global gets the gimped version, as usual.

Just defeated the E4 and Lance. The E4 was really easy but Lance's Dragonites are no joke, and he was the only fight in the game that made me use items (Revives) during the battle. Honestly I think that my team wasn't great against him in particular because due to a lack of good TMs, my Typh had mostly fire attacks, Marowak's ground moves were useless against a team full of flying types (Rock Slide is postgame) and Crobat is just weak. Ampharos was so important because it killed half of Lance's team and paralyzed the rest, and playing Voltorb Flip just to get Ice Beam for Kingdra really paid off.
This fight really made me reevaluate Lance (which I didn't fight for years until today), and how Ampharos should not be slept on (it had a Choice Scarf from the mom though).

Alright, success. I was internally screaming the entire time, but it worked. Technology is incredible. All 386 Pokemon successfully visited LeafGreen and Sapphire before returning to Emerald. Three carts with completely finished National Pokedexes. Time to play with the Pal Park.

For the mons that can go to gen 1, Rare Candy them. Otherwise I guess beat Red or the E4 over and over. Forget what the grinding spot is for gen 2.
