Part 55

I headed toward Opelucid City, catching a Minccino along the way. Once there, I met Gym Leader Drayden, who told me the legend of Reshiram and Zekrom. He explained that the two dragons were once a single powerful being, split in two by differing ideals. To stop Team Plasma and their plans with Zekrom, I would need to awaken Reshiram.

Knowing I still needed to grow stronger, I trained my team and caught a wild Bouffalant in the nearby routes. Once ready, I challenged Drayden in a tough Gym battle. He opened with his own Fraxure, so I sent in mine. After trading Dragon Pulses, I won the mirror match. Then his Druddigon used Dragon Tail, knocking my Fraxure back and pulling Samurott into battle. Luckily, Samurott landed a solid Revenge followed by Aqua Jet to bring Druddigon down.

Finally, Drayden sent out his Haxorus. I brought in Sawk, who powered through the dragon with a few hard-hitting Brick Breaks. It wasn’t easy, but I pulled through and earned my eighth Gym Badge. The road to stopping Team Plasma was nearly at its end, and I was one step closer to awakening Reshiram.
