Hey guys and girls, with the upcoming battle-focused Pokemon Champions game I am wondering how many people would be interested in playing with a Gen 4-style rule set?

Whether for fun or glory, I wish to gather all who share my passion for this meta game.

We could host tournaments for fun, whales might be able to throw in prices, I don't know. First I want to gather interest.

That does seem like a fun idea, I do want to see how Champions shakes out first though. I'm still pretty wary of it.

I will not be touching the povvo-friendly battle sim, I'm only here for the inevitable C'n'D for showdown and the sperging of the sad fuckers who couldn't see the eventual endgoal with the release of said povvo-friendly battle sim.

Not sure. Details are scarce right now. My guess though is we'll have two options:
1) They provide different formats for previous generations
Then we just roll with that because its straight forward.
2) We do Gentleman's Agreement basically and if anyone breeches the rules and brings Pokemon that are banned or whatever they get DQ'd...
This is the more scuffed option but gives us more control.

Yeah, that's fair. I wanna see how it pans out, but the idea of a battle "sim" on console is interesting - thing that turns me off from Showdown is lack of animations and all, it feels empty.
