Poison does nothing to water. Those who live within water are the affected, but no water itself. On the other hand, some poisons have chemical properties that can corrode steel and some bugs can tamper some machines too. Steel shouldn't be portrayed as resistant as they claim

Itโ€™s because while Fairy is sold as the type of Mythology and the Fae, itโ€™s really glorified Grass 2.0 and represents Nature as a whole.
If it was the former, Fairy should work incredibly well with poisons. Hags and Archfey create incredibly potent poisons and is truthfully their weapon of choice; they should naturally be resistant to that.

I will say that Fairy type mons try to be a lot of things rather than being connected to a single element
>Fire types are all related to heat
>Water Types are all related to the sea/aquatic life style
>Dark is related to underhanded tactics
>Fairy is related to Fae but also Girly mons but also guardian deities like the Tapus but also related to food but also Grandbull is here I guess
Yeah, it's weird...

In that sense Fire-based Pokemon should just kill any Pokemon, even others of their own type because there's no living being that thrive on direct fire. Type effectiveness should consider the properties of the element, not the user's.

Poison just shouldn't exist as a type. Anything poison does could be thematically covered by Grass or Dark. Ice shouldn't exist either, just make them all Water types.
Honestly Rock and Ground could be absorbed together too.

Steel is completely immune to poison because toxic wastes and various chemicals are often stored in metallic containers and you can't poison machines. It would make sense for a special type of poison move to be effective against steel as a concept though.

It will generate heat, and depending on the current intensity, it can melt steel.

steel, is fucking heavy. given flying is also the "air" type (see: gust, hurricane, air cutter, bleakwind storm, aeroblast) it'd be reasonable to think that something it can't easily blow away or weather would be resistant to damage.

too many non-bug type pokemon have access to u-turn in general, it needs the scald treatment. bug needs unique gimmicks to offset its dogshit type relationships, grass looks shit just based on the type chart but it has enough gimmicks going for it to be very useful. ice has also been dramatically improved by the snow rework (though it will probably weaken a bit with tera gone).

fairy and steel (and arguably water) need their own adjustments, though bug being at least neutral to fairy would be nice
