it's literally just because the renders are drawn in the style of the new anime and not the regular digimon artstyle
they fall under almost the exact same design philosophy, it's just without the harsh shading and the more extraneous details your brain is tricking you into thinking they don't fit. once the official art comes along they'll slot right in.

sort of like how plenty of fakemon properly mimic pokemon design philosophy but get brushed off since the artstyle they're drawn in doesn't perfectly mimic sugimori and people wrongfully attribute artstyle to the most important aspect of design

Guilmon to growmon is a classic, Aegiochusmon, while humanoid, has dragon data and keeps the red scales and white hair. Magnakidmon keeps the human aspect but is a full-on dragon man type digimon that can dish out dante from the devil may cry series™ gunplay. Bonus for also keeping the red with the white hair.
