>>58084524 (OP) Geodude line: Eats rocks, digesting into earth, rolls around in mud. Onix: Is functionally an earthworm constantly eating earth and tunneling through it. Rhynorn line: Lives on the Savannah, associated with dry earth and sand. Sudowoodo: Is just a rock that looks like a tree.
>>58084524 (OP) >Rock Type and Ground Type are the same shit. No. Rock Pokemon have bodies made of rock. Ground-types live underground, in sand, or are manmade.
>>58084648 >Runegirus? >Gollurk? >Ting Lu? Manmade. >Camerupt? Lives in the mountains.

And the most popular rock type in the game is Tyranitar.
Anyways my favorite gen 1 ground type is Sandslash. Love that pesky hedgehog!

>>58084524 (OP) That's because the only non-Ground Rock types from Gen 1 were the fossils Also, the only Rock/Ground Pokemon since Gen 1 are Larvitar, Pupitar and Rhyperior
Ground Type means "made of earth, causes quakes or is supernaturally good at digging"
Go look at Pokemon in both Types, almost all of them follow these rules. Marowak is one of few exceptions but I've always wondered if the implication is supposed to be that it's Ground because it uses its bone to slam the ground and cause earthquakes
>>58085009 >All of the bone-related moves are ground-type. This is true but it's probably the other way around. Those moves were made for Marowak so they're Ground type, it's the same as e.g. First Impression being a Bug move because it was made for Golisopod but there's nothing inherently Bug about it.
>entire line is known for digging underground and eating metal >not ground type to reflect that by giving it STAB on ground moves which are SE against rock and steel while tying into its underground/tunneling nature like a lot of other ground types and giving it a defensive typing that isn't shit we were robbed
>>58084532 >If sand is ground then rock should be ground too If rock is ground then ice should be ground too.

>>58084528 Yeah, they are. Onix and Geodude were pseudo-mascot level popular in the Gen 1 days. Rhydon was also popular for its power, rarity, and awesome design.
