Day 67.
I began preparing for my final gym battle against Marlon, the Gym Leader of Humilau City. While training, I explored the icy depths of the Giant Chasm and caught both a Delibird and a Vanillish, adding some chilly variety to my collection. With my team ready, I headed back to Humilau to face the final test.
For this battle, I decided to let my starter, Serperior, handle everything—and it delivered. Against Carracosta, Serperior opened with a clean Leaf Blade, then followed up with Giga Drain to heal back the damage and finish the job. When Wailord entered the field, Serperior missed a Leech Seed, but used the opportunity to set up Growth. Wailord landed a few hits, but one well-timed Giga Drain was enough to bring it down and restore Serperior's health once again.
Marlon’s final Pokémon, Jellicent, could have been tricky, but with Growth already active, there was no need to switch to Galvantula. Serperior struck hard with Leaf Blade, and Jellicent went down instantly.
With that, Marlon was defeated, and I earned my eighth and final gym badge. The road to the Pokémon League now lay ahead.
