Otherwise the whole sequence of Annie and Oakley pinpointing using her body temperature, double checking to ensure they were right, and attacking wouldn't really work as well. That makes me wonder when M05 actually takes place. The official map from M10 shows it's an island south of Johto But the movie released halfway through the Larvitar arc, so it has to be before Lapras of Luxury but after Politoed's evolution ep. But going on a holiday randomly while so close to the Silver Conference makes no sense.

If M05 is inbetween the Silver Conference and Misty's departure ep, then I'd stay in Altomare since I'd have no outstanding tasks to do. Meeting Latias may have been the original trio's last adventure.
