Why is 1.7 taking so fucking long?

Happy to know I'm not the only one who cares. I've been checking the site weekly for updates.

I made a fucking burner discord to see if the mods were just posting all their updates there. They’ve only put out 5 teasers in 8 months, and three of those were just models of Pokémon lines being added in 1.7.

I’m trying not to get mad, but it’s annoying me mostly because this is a pretty insubstantial update. Every single thing it adds is already available for 1.6 with fan-made add-ons, and the official counterparts only look marginally better. I have no clue why it’s taking this long when the developers themselves have stated that only a handful of Pokémon will initially be rideable (so the problem clearly isn’t remodeling the 600+ Pokémon already available to accommodate it), and that cooking has basically been a finished mechanic for nearly a year now. Same goes for TMs, which aren’t even a part of this update, and breeding is at least 70% complete because you can see it functioning relatively alright in their developer updates. They’ve also publicized egg sprites for every single Pokémon, even those not in the mod yet, so I don’t understand why they’re making 1.7 so comparatively barebones.

I just hope this means 1.8 will come out sooner. I really love this mod and it sucks to see it in such a grey area right now.

Yeah, they’re behind on the changelog. And the Trello. They update the changelog more than the Trello, but mostly actual branches and not the changelog describing them.
