So about these guys. How do you feel about them? What the heck were the designers thingken?

We know Clefairy came first(though it was heavily redesigned later) in the context of them wanting Pokémon with the primary purpose of being cute "pet-like" creatures(in contrast with the combat-oriented and function-oriented kaijus like Rhydon and Lapras respectively). Do you think the other two bloblines spawned from Clefairy as in "let's have a few more of these types of things" or did they come to be independently? Do they have any discernible influences from other media besides maybe Kirby?

It was never about GSC, it was about what else they can get you to buy. Little girls, especially back then, rarely played the games as we were still in the cultural mindsets (both eastern and western) that video games are for boys. But they see the baby pokemon in the anime or on toy shelves or their older brother trying to figure out how to get them and they consoom

I actually like how Fairy help differentiate them. Instead of three Normal pink blobs, we have pure Fairy pink blob, Normal/Fairy pink blob, and pure Normal pink blob -- with another pink blob being pure Normal but with a type change to Normal/Fairy when it Mega Evolves.

I like Jigglypuff as a mon for its design/concept but I feel like it's not super fun to actually use in-game because it feels pretty weak for a while. Wigglytuff feels like a downgrade too.

I like the concept of Chansey but I'm not big on the design. I think Blissey maybe looks a little better.

Clefairy is my favorite Pokemon, not just out of these three but in general. It's fun to use with Metronome + the amount of moves it can learn and its design has kind of a playful/scrappy angle with the fangs and stuff that prevents it from feeling overly cutesy. Not as into Clefable by comparison, but I can live with it
