Good of you. If there's one thing that bothers me about it and its pre-evos is that they constantly have to be portrayed with their respective objects like they're an integral part of their body (which would be absurdly retarded). Otherwise, I don't feel particularly anything about them, positive or negative.

I think that's a valid peeve for Timburr and Gurdurr. Conkeldurr, though, not only seems to need the concrete pillars to support its upper body but also has Pokedex lore that justifies it. It's super smart and knows how to make concrete. Taught it to humans like a noble, blue collar Prometheus.
In SV Conkeldurr has a cute sleeping animation. He holds on to one pillar while the other just stands straight up on the ground. It looks like an ingrained instinct to hold them.

A lot of creatures that are referred to as "monsters" in countless fictional settings are cute, cool, or beautiful. Are you trying to say that all those settings (including Pokémon) are wrong for calling their fantasy creatures "monsters" because according to you, monsters are supposed to be ugly even though the word "monster" has different meanings depending on the context?
Conkeldurr's my favorite Pokemon and I don't think it should ever get a mega because Gamefreak would fuck it up by not giving it Guts so it would just do less damage
