what I learned about the Clef fandom is they're one of the quietest and layback of Pokémon fans, but from other media it looks like Mega Clefable has a positive reception with only a few not liking the French Hat

Hello Clefbros, I'm thinking of adding Clefable to my team once ZA comes out. Will be my first time using it, but Fairy is one of 3 types I always make sure to have on my ingame team, and I like the Mega design.

Yeah that looks like the best idea, would a calm mind set be competent in gen 3 and doubles too? I was thinking of taking one through from gen 3 to get all the ribbons.

You could def do it but it would be a lot harder. I would so singles battle tower with two very strong teammates. In gen 3 use the Ruby/Sapphire battle tower if possible and the Diamond/Pearl one in gen 4 as they each have weaker AI and sets for the pokemon. If you're going to start in gen 3 and not going to rng manip your clef I would use third party software or cloning to check if your chosen clef will have magic guard in gen 4 if you don't want it to just get carried

I too like how they focused more on Clefable's moon rabbit theming as well, IMO I think Mega Clefable followed the Mega Evolution concept nicely by taking the base of the Pokémon and progressing it, glad they didn't try to change Mega Clefable drastically into a different looking Pokémon like how they did some other Megas

I think the beret looks a bit stupid and detracts from the otherwise pretty adorable design, but I really like it, it looks pretty good and seems to be a pretty great Pokemon in battle too, remains to be seen what ability it gets.

Used one in my Red playthrough recently, fucking OP giving 2HKOs with strength+Mega Punch and helped with captures via Sleep. I also gave them Fire Blast to also wreck shit.

Well, that's normal for Clefable, most people still don't know how good Clefable really is until they lose to one and find out the hard way that the Chubby Fairy is quite formidable

People just have this stigma that everything Pink and Girly must be weak

Mega Clefable's stats are pretty close to Mega Gardevoirs's with slightly better General Bulk and Defense, but slower though being part Flying open the doors for Clefable to lean more Flying moves like Tailwind

I love Clefable, and I not only grew up with Leaf Green, but I actually have a legitimate Clefairy who knows Softboiled from that game (garbage ivs, but that's fine, and not much of an issue anymore anyways), and I brought her up from LG/E through the generations while Ribbon Mastering her. And I did get every Ribbon for her from all the prior games. But I think I ultimately ended up leaving her in Gen 7 when it turned out that trying to bring her any further up, and I would have to delete Softboiled if I wanted to ever use her online, and she would never be able to get it back again, which just didn't feel right. She's had that move for years and it just feels really special on her at this point, so I don't want to get rid of it. well I also stopped getting these games as well so I don't even know what gen 9 is like but I doubt they changed this knowing the direction they've been going

I always wanted Clefable to have a Mega Evolution, and I'm content with the one that we got, but my Clefable will most likely never be able to use it unfortunately.
It's nice to know she finally got one though.

Thanks, and yeah, I've used her in numerous online battles.
Really liked getting to pair her up with my Venusaur (who was the Mega), they complimented each other well. She was also the one who ended up actually beating the guy for the 50 battle ribbon in DP's battle frontier by managing to toxic stall the final pokemon while just a clefairy (I don't remember why I hadn't evolved her at the time though).
I've always been pretty fond of my mons and the ability to transfer always made Pokemon feel very special compared to other games, so it's sad to see the state transferring has been reduced to. But I'm happy to have her around still.

Well, considering she's not likely to ever go forward into new generation and they massacred my boy Sableye with that prankster nerf (at least as far as singles goes, I don't really care much for double battles) and also cut out his mega I guess Hatterene has kind of ended up becoming both of their successors. Helps she also has a design I quite like, too. If I ended up ever making a Mono Fairy team though it'd be fun to have the two together, so I could probably do that on Showdown at some point I guess.
